About CREATE
Main content start
CREATE (The Center for Responsible and Effective AI Technology Enhancement of PTSD Treatments) is a National Institute of Mental Health-funded, multidisciplinary ALACRITY center (P50 MH 139450) that develops and evaluates LLM-based tools to support evidence-based mental health treatment implementation and quality.
Mission & Vision
- Aim 1: Develop and refine CREATE tools that will be suitable for deployment and implementation in public mental health settings
- Partner closely with key knowledge users in public mental health service systems and using best methods and practices for development, evaluation, and deployment.
- We will evaluate an innovative LLM development approach that involves end-user participation and design MAGIC tools to activate key mechanisms of learning and change.
- Aim 2: Evaluate CREATE tools across the READI domains
- Signature Project, three Exploratory Research Projects, and fund pilots that focus on LLM-based tools to support and augment EBPs for PTSD in treatment settings that serve underrepresented clinical populations.
- Conduct mixed-methods evaluations using the READI and implementation science frameworks, and examine activation of a common set of mechanisms of change across projects.
- Aim 3: Contribute to knowledge and practice in this rapidly developing field
- Methods Core will develop innovative methodologies for the development, evaluation, refinement, and implementation of CREATE tools.
- Administrative Core will provide training and support to fellows, early career, pilot investigators, and practice partners who seek to specialize in the intersection of AI and mental health.
